UP DOWN
What Was I Supposed To Be?    Listen To Song Clip

Words and music by Ray Boltz

When Jesus walked upon the earth
On the shores of Galilee
He'd say to his disciples,
Let the little children come to me

I wonder if up in heaven
Do you suppose we'll see
Little children ask Him,
What was I supposed to be?

CHORUS:
What was I supposed to be?
What were my eyes supposed to see?
And why did I taste of death
Before I even drew a breath
Or laid my head
At my mother's breast to sleep
Oh, Jesus, what was I supposed to be?

CHORUS

Was I to be a prophet
Used in the ministry?
A doctor who would find the cure
For some terrible disease?
Even if I'd been born imperfect
Why couldn't my parents see
That I'd have been made perfect
When you came back for me?
Oh, Jesus,

CHORUS

What was I supposed to be?
Jesus, what was I supposed to be?

Touching Him

Words and music by Ray Boltz

A woman came to Simon's house
She knew the Lord was there
And when she walked into the room
She was greeted by the stares
She surely must have shocked a few
Of the people gathered there
As with tear filled eyes
And trembling hand
She took down her long, dark hair
And from an alabaster vessel
Precious ointment filled her hand
And as she wept
She kissed His feet
And began anointing them

CHORUS:
With her hands
She was touching Him
The Alpha, The Omega
The Beginning and The End
And with her hands
She was holding onto His
And the source of life
Was right there in her hands

Now Simon said within his heart,
Lord, if you only knew
The kind of woman
That's touching You
But Jesus knew about her past
He knew about the sin
And yet He saw in her
A repentant heart
That had come to worship Him

CHORUS

Now tell me why do we gather
Together in His name?
Are we like the ones who merely watch?
Tell me, is that why we came?
Or are we like this sister?
Do we truly enter in?
In Spirit and in Truth
Have you come to worship Him?

And with your hands
Are you touching Him?
And with your heart
Are you loving Him?
And with your hands
Are you holding onto His?
Then the source of life
Is right there in your hands

It's Not Enough

Words and music by Ray Boltz

I got an AM/FM multiplex
With a new turntable
And a cassette deck
And I'm turning on
To twenty-four hours
Of Jesus jam
Yes, I am
I'm hearing Russel Taff,
DeGarmo and Key, Phil Keaggy,
And a little bit of Honeytree
Friend let me ask you,
Ain't I a spiritual man?

CHORUS:
That's not enough, not enough
Not enough
There is so much more
That Jesus wants us to be
That's not enough, not enough
Not enough
Jesus wants to use you
To set all the captives free

Well then a voice said,
Mister, well what about me?
I'm a charismatic with a color TV
And I'm tuned into that satellite
In the sky
I'm watching Oral Roberts
And Billy Graham
Jim Bakker and Mr. Pat Robertson
I had to smile
And I gave him the same reply

CHORUS

Listening to your radio
And watching TV
Don't sound much like a ministry to me
If you're sitting there and listening
Saying, Lord, I want to be blessed
Think I'll skip all the homework
And still get an "A" on the test
Friend, you better listen real close to me

CHORUS

Jesus wants to use you
To set all the captives
Jesus wants to use you
To set all the captives
Jesus wants to use you
To set all the captives free

Watch The Lamb    Listen To Song Clip

Words and music by Ray Boltz

Walking on the road to Jerusalem
The time had come to sacrifice again
My two small sons,
They walked beside me on the road
The reason that they came
Was to watch the lamb

CHORUS:
Daddy, daddy what will we see there?
There's so much we don't understand
So I told them of Moses
And Father Abraham
And then I said,
Dear children, Watch the lamb

For there will be so many
In Jerusalem today
We must be sure the lamb
Doesn't run away
And I told them of Moses
And Father Abraham
And then I said,
Dear children, Watch the lamb

When we reached the city
I knew something must be wrong
There were no joyful worshippers
No joyful worship songs
I stood there with my children
In the midst of angry men
And then I heard the crowd cry out,
Crucify Him

We tried to leave the city
But we could not get away
Forced to play in this drama,
A part I did not wish to play
Why upon this day
Were men condemned to die?
Why were we standing here
Where soon they would pass by?

I look and said, Even now they come
The first one cried for mercy,
The people gave him none
The second one was violent,
He was arrogant and loud
I still can hear his angry voice
Screaming at the crowd

Then someone said, There's Jesus!
And I scarce believed my eyes
A man so badly beaten,
He barely looked alive
Blood poured from His body,
From the thorns upon His brow
Running down the cross
And falling to the ground

I watched Him as He struggled
I watched Him as He fell
The cross came down upon His back,
The crowd began to yell
In that moment I felt such agony
In that moment I felt such loss
Until a Roman soldier grabbed my arm
And screamed, You, carry His cross!

At first I tried to resist him
Then his hand reached for his sword
And so I knelt and took
The cross from the Lord
I placed it on my shoulder
And started down the street
The blood that He'd been shedding
Was running down my cheek

They led us to Golgotha
They drove nails
Deep in His feet and hands
An yet upon the cross
I heard Him pray, Father forgive them
Oh, never have I seen such love
In any other eyes
Into they hands I commit My spirit,
He prayed and then He died

I stood for what seemed like years
I'd lost all sense of time
Until I felt two tiny hands
Holding tight to mine
My children stood there weeping
I heard the oldest say
Father, please forgive us
The lamb ran away

Daddy, daddy what have we seen here?
There's so much
That we don't understand
So I took them in my arms
And we turned and faced the cross
And then I said,
Dear children, watch the Lamb

I've Come To Serve

Words and music by Ray Boltz

The disciples were assembled
In the upper room
They didn't know that Jesus
Would be leaving very soon
They talked about His kingdom
As they readied for the feast
Who would be the greatest
And who would be the least

One said, If there's a greatest,
I hope I'm the one
Others talked of miracles
That they had seen or done
No one noticed Jesus
As He rose up from His seat
Until He knelt before them
And began to wash their feet

CHORUS:
I've come to serve you
I've come to serve you
And if you know my Father's love
The way you say you do
Then you will serve each other too

I wish I could have been there
To see the look on each man's face
A single act of service
Puts us all back in out place
For though we're called to minister
And do miracles in His name
Remember when you're sent by Him
The reason that He came

CHORUS (repeat)

Yes, you, should serve each other too

6A.M. Blues

Words and music by Ray Boltz

Well it's 6AM
And it's Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues
Well it's 6AM
And it's Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues
With a song like that
You just can't win
You can only lose
Singing 6AM on a Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues

Well the sun's coming up
Outside of the house
You see it on the window shade
When you look around the room
At all the people strung out
Well you kind of wish
You'd never stayed
Your head is pounding
And you can't go to sleep
You got a burning pain inside
And you wonder why you feel so low
Every time that you get high
And that's when you utter
Those famous words,
I ain't never doing this again
But one week later
After Saturday night
Well, where are you then?
You're singing those…

CHORUS

Well I used to sing that song myself
It wasn't long ago
But that was until
That wonderful day
When I first came to know
My God, My Savior, My Coming King
Jesus set me free
Now I know what it means to sing
I was blind but now I see
And friend, He'll do the same for you
God loves you and that's a fact
Put your hand in the nail scarred
Hand of Jesus
And you never ever have to go back
To singing them…

CHORUS

No more 6AM on a Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues
No more 6AM on a Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues
You'll be praising the Lord
Getting ready for church
Looking forward to some spiritual truths
Instead of 6AM on a Sunday morning
I'm never doing this again blues

Break The Yoke

Words and music by Ray Boltz

Standing up on the outside
Falling down within
Looking righteous as a Pharisee
But filled with guilt and sin
Trying to walk with Jesus
On a straight and narrow road
And holding onto this world
I just could not let go
That's such a heavy load

Come and break the yoke, Lord
Come and set this child free
Come tear down the walls of pride
And all I hide beneath
Freedom always came to those
Who received the word You spoke
I received Your word
Break the yoke
I received Your word
Break the yoke

Praying with my brother
Was such aprecious time
When I confessed my weaknesses
He joined his hands with mine
And I know something happened
When he prayed with me
The weight of sin feel off
And Jesus set me free

Come and break the yoke, Lord
Come and set Your children free
Come tear down the walls of pride
And false humility
The nail scars
In Your hands and feet
Prove Your love for us is not a joke
Do what you must
But break the yoke
Do what you must
But break the yoke

Now I'm back on my feet again
A new life's begun
Everyday I'm walking with Jesus
But you know there are days
We even run
Set free to serve and worship Him
All the chains He broke
I'll praise His name forever
He broke the yoke
I'll praise Your name forever
You broke the yoke

Behold

Words and music by Ray Boltz

Behold the cross that Jesus bore
Behold the crown of thorns He wore
Behold the price that Jesus paid
The glorious sacrifice that He made

CHORUS:
Behold, oh, behold
Jesus Christ the Lord
Behold, He is the one
That we adore

Behold the tomb where Jesus lay
Behold the stone
It's been rolled away
Behold His resurrection power
He lives again, He lives this hour

CHORUS

Behold a world in slumber lies
And then thunder fills the skies
An angel shouts
A trumpet sounds
The saints of God are glory bound

CHORUS

And we adore You, Lord
And we adore Your name
And we lift up our hearts in praise
