A Note From Ray... In life we will face trials of many kinds, but even in the midst of great difficulty, God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). There is hope in that fact. The book of Hebrews was written during a time when many were facing persecution because of their faith. Hebrews 10 talks of believers who held to their faith even as they were being publicly insulted, mistreated, and imprisoned, as their property was being confiscated, and also as they stood with their brothers who were facing similar trials. Somehow, these believers were able to carry on. Hebrews 10 must have been an encouragement to them, just as it is an encouragement to us today. It says, "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful....So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, 'He who is coming will come and will not delay'" (Hebrews 10:23, 35-37). The time is coming when we will be free from suffering and pain, and we'll be in the presence of Jesus. What a day that will be! I pray that God would strengthen each of us to be faithful and to carry on until the day we're gathered around His throne.
